Herbal Soup was also literally translates as “meat bone tea”, and at its simplest, consists of meaty ribs simmered in a complex broth of herbs and spices. The dish is reported to supplement the meagre diet of port coolies and as a tonic to boost people health.
Ingredients
Astragalus, Polygonatum Odoratum, Ligusticum Chuanxiong, Codonopsis Pilosula, Cinnamomum Cassia, Angelica Sinensis, Illicium Verum, Piper Nigrum, Eugenia Caryophyllata
Preparations:
2 kg meats, 8 pieces of garlic, 2 spoons of black soy sauce, 4 spoons of light soy sauce, 2 spoons of oyster sauce, salt, 10 bowls of water and one packet of A1 Herbal Soup
Cooking Instructions:
1. Rinse meat.
2. Pour 10 bowls of water (3 liters) to boil, then put in A1 Herbal Soup. Use medium temperature to cook for 1/2 hours.
3. Add pepper before serving.
